Job Classifications
CDL DRIVER, CLASS A OR B
- Transports building materials (drywall, steel studs, stucco, manufactured stone and related products) to commercial and residential job sites primarily with boom trucks.
- Unloads vehicles using a boom and directs and assists a crew of one to two stockers in carting and/or carrying the drywall to its final destination.
- Maintains drivers log according to DOT regulations
- Ability to deal with problems using good judgment and resourcefulness.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently on a daily basis.
- The employee must posses a CDL, Class A or Class B with a good driving record.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and have a basic proficiency in the English language.
STOCKER
- Assists driver in securing the load, and doing product count prior to leaving the yard.
- Once at site, walks the site with driver to determine best entry location and site for unloading. Walks through building with driver to determine where material are to be stocked and safest movement routes. Serves as a spotter for the driver in guiding the truck to the desired location.
- Unloads vehicles by removing wall board and other materials from the boom spindles by hand and transporting by use of hand truck, dolly, or board cart to its final destination.
- Ability to learn the correct techniques for stocking drywall in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must have the ability to read and understand English, understand direction, and communicate well with supervisors and management.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently on a daily basis.
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of one year of work experience is preferred.
YARDMAN
- Operates industrial trucks/forklifts, uses hydraulic pallet jacks and hand carts, and/or manual strength to push, lift, stack, tier, or move product and materials in the yard and warehouse.
- Unloads product from flatbeds, van trucks, and other vehicles; transports load to designated area in the warehouse.
- Records acceptance of delivery on carrier’s transportation documents noting any discrepancies in the count versus the carrier’s documents.
- Loads LKL trucks according to work order/delivery ticket and ensures that the load is stable.
- Has the ability to prioritize tasks and to be flexible with changing priorities and conditions.
- Must understand the importance of friendly and efficient customer service.
- Ability to learn product codes and to retrieve products from the warehouse or yard in an efficient and effective manner.
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend written instructions in English and have a basic proficiency in the English language.
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently.
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of one year of experience driving industrial trucks/forklifts is required.
